Chad: Well, folks, Utopia is at it again. Their beloved TradeBot has just issued a ruling against the United States — this time over corn subsidies.

Tasha: Corn. The backbone of America. The thing we turn into fuel, syrup, snacks, and apparently diplomatic incidents.
 

Chad: Apparently our corn subsidies are now a global crime. TradeBot — a robot built by a country whose entire economy could fit inside Nebraska — says we’re violating WTO rules.

 

Tasha: And thirty‑eight countries — none of which anyone can find on a map — submitted documentation supporting Utopia’s complaint. Classic anti‑Americanism from countries that wish they had our corn, our land, or our GDP.
 

Chad: According to TradeBot, our subsidies “distort global prices” and “violate WTO rules.” It’s authorized a twenty‑two percent countervailing duty on American corn — not just for Utopia, but for all twenty‑seven countries that use this bot to settle trade disputes. Twenty‑seven countries outsourcing their sovereignty to a robot.

 

Tasha: So let me get this straight. A coalition of countries most Americans couldn’t identify on a globe wants to punish the world’s largest agricultural producer because they don’t like how we grow corn.
 

Chad: That’s the situation.

Tasha: And TradeBot actually wrote “corn - sequences applied” in its ruling. A robot is making puns while trying to discipline the United States.
 

Chad: Honestly, I’m not sure what’s more insulting — the duty or the wordplay.

Tasha: Utopia and its cluster of minor states think they can reshape global trade by lecturing superpowers. They can impose all the duties they want. We’ll keep growing corn. They can keep growing… whatever it is they grow. Mostly bureaucracy.
