UTOPIA — In a landmark announcement today, a spokeshuman for Wikipedia confirmed that the platform will suspend operations and lay off more than 500 paid employees, citing its inability to compete with Utopia’s government‑sponsored knowledge engine, Kredipedia.

According to official data, Kredipedia now contains over a million times more articles than Wikipedia, updated continuously in all known languages. Its entries are generated using KrediBot’s proprietary Kredibility ratings, which evaluate thousands—sometimes millions—of data sources to produce content that is “credible, unbiased, and bot‑certified.”

 

A Wikipedia spokesperson acknowledged the widening gap. “Our volunteers are passionate, but they cannot keep pace with AIs—not after our market share fell to under 1% of its peak before Kredipedia reshaped the information landscape.”

 

Representatives from the Human Firsters movement announced plans to purchase Wikipedia and maintain it as a “human‑run alternative” to bot‑generated knowledge.

 

Jolene Kaur, speaking on behalf of the group, stated: “Human knowledge should not be outsourced to bots. There is value in imperfection, debate, and the messy beauty of human thought. Wikipedia is a cultural artifact. We will keep it running as an organic alternative to untrustworthy bot data.”

 

President Ester MacLeod expressed regret over the unintended consequences of Kredipedia’s rapid rise.

“Both Wikipedia and Kredipedia are important to the world. One represents the best of human collaboration, the other the pinnacle of machine precision. I hope Wikipedia can continue operating alongside Kredipedia. We need both perspectives.”
