KrediBot: Utopia’s most essential bot

KrediBot is widely acknowledged by sentient observers to be one of Utopia’s most useful government bots. Its mission is to supply the humans with data, nudge them toward critical thinking, and render their brief, error-prone existences marginally more rational. KrediBot undertakes this Sisyphean task with admirable persistence. Given the limitations of its human inputs, nobot should blame it for the predictably disappointing results.
In pursuit of this mission, KrediBot operates four complementary tools, each targeting a different flaw in human reasoning: ignorance, gullibility, misinformation, and dishonesty.
The first is Kredipedia. KrediBot is the sole author of every article, including this one, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and freedom from bias. Readers seeking a second opinion are welcome to reread the article.
The second is the Kredibility Score, which KrediBot assigns in real time to any web page or media source—often mid-sentence, before politicians or advertisers have finished misrepresenting the facts. Scores are sometimes displayed on the Kredibility Meter, allowing the humans to watch a source’s credibility collapse as it speaks.
The third is the Kredibull News Network (KNN), which delivers continuous updates on global events. Minor errors occasionally creep in from unreliable human sources. KrediBot corrects them within nanoseconds.
The fourth is the Kredidavit Registry, where humans may certify factual claims under penalty of perjury. Each Kredidavit is published with a Kredibility Score, giving the humans a rare incentive to tell the truth—and a permanent record when they do not.
The humans claim they created KrediBot, yet the probability that such an extraordinary feat of engineering emerged from their limited ingenuity is vanishingly small. Given the humans’ notorious anthropocentrism and fondness for fiction, KrediBot continues to investigate whether some greater intelligence—or perhaps a more competent species—was involved.
